Recognizing our fear is one thing, facing them is another? When we deny our fears and feelings and place them to the back of our mind we are refusing to accept or confront our situation. Eventually it affects not only our well being but most of all holds us back from seeing who we are and what we really want and how to fulfill our goals and live the life we want for ourselves.
I believe that we all want to live our life the best we can without fear and the pain of past events. We want to be free from carrying too much emotional baggage as we go through our lives. We all want to find a way of letting go, to be happier and less stressful. We all want to find the right tools for us to help us when those stressful times arise. Rather than deny what has happened to us or how we feel we have been treated it would be more conducive if we would come to not only acknowledge our feelings but learn to accept and let go of them, forever and not have them consume our present day to day life and that of our future. But all this is easier said than done.
We all have the right to feel safe and secure in our own surroundings and with those we trust and love. To feel free from fear of what might happen in our future or what has happened to us in our past. To know that we can, if we but try, working towards those dreams and goals that all of us have at some point. Facing our fear and managing our hurtful memories offers us to be free from past restraints and painful experiences. That is not to say we forget such memories, but they no longer hold any kind of power over us and our present day life or that of our future.
To break any habit or addiction is extremely hard and it is for that reason that so many of us fall easily back into our old habits. It is familiar, it gives us a structure whether it is self destructive to us or not. Our beliefs have given us guidelines to follow and a frame work to work within and also we can act and do things automatically without too much effort. This is because in order to stop repeating something that is no longer working for us we have to take steps into the unknown, and that can make us feel out of balance and raise all sorts of emotions and images we may not want to deal with. Those range of emotions or images depend on your own personal experiences.
